Register as a Jobseeker with the Public Employment Service

The Employment and Training Corporation (ETC), Malta’s Public Employment Service, helps you find a job, as well as improve your career if you are already employed. ETC acts as a broker between companies seeking to recruit new staff and those looking for a job. Once you’ve registered with ETC, you will be informed of suitable job opportunities.

You can also register on ETC’s website,  This enables you to create a profile, upload your CV, view suggested vacancies, enlist your work preferences and much more.

Register with Private Employment Agencies

In addition to the Public Employment Service, you may also seek a job through private employment agencies, which offer jobseekers the opportunity to find a job across the different sectors in Malta and Gozo.

Contact an ETC Officer

Officers at ETC can help by providing career and employment counselling, including pinpointing your strengths and most likely career path.   You can speak to an officer at the various ETC centres across Malta and Gozo in Birgu, Birkirkara, Mosta, Qawra, Valletta, Zejtun and Victoria as well as online.
 

Training / Apprenticeship

Improve your chances of getting a job or promotion by improving your skills with
work exposure schemes and training programmes designed to suit your needs. You can also receive on-the-job and off-the-job training through traineeships organised in collaboration with a wide variety of companies in Malta and Gozo.

Vocational / Career Advice

When you register as an unemployed you will automatically be given vocational and career advise. The ETC will arrange individual meetings with you to understand your needs and job prefereences and will advise you accordingly. 

You may also register with ETC​ for the following sessions which can help you improve your chances in improving your employability and skills:

Job Search Seminar
This is a one day seminar to provide first time clients with basic skills and information related to job searching, labour market trends and employment regulations at an early stage in order to help them become better equipped to look for work and facilitate their movement into the labour market as quickly as possible.

Job Skills
This is a course in Life Skills and Job-Seeking Skills, primarily aimed at registrants, in order to assist them in their search for employment by providing the basic skills required.

Job Club
This programme is to help participants who have been registering for a number of months to become equipped with certain soft skills and jobsearching skills that will enable them to become more employable.

Youth Employment Programme (YEP)

The YEP programme is designed to increase the employability of young people and facilitate labour market integration of youth​. This Youth Employment Portal​ provides information related to job search, career tools, tips, training programmes, online one-to-one consultations with the psychologist, career guidance practitioner and the occupational therapist.
