Scholarships in Italy 2013/2014
The Italian Government is offering 30 months of scholarships, carrying an allowance of €800, for language courses, graduate and postgraduate studies, art, music and Italian culture, to be availed of during the academic year 2013/14. Detailed information can be found on:

The applications must be received online by midnight Friday, 31st May, 2013. Moreover, within ten days from applying online, one has to send all necessary documentation requested as hard copy to the Italian Cultural Institute (Attn Dr Salvatore Schirmo). It is being underlined that only applications through this system will be considered.
The applicants’ age should not exceed 35 years.
A copy of the application is also to be sent to the Scholarship Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This can be either posted, faxed, sent by email or one can use the Scholarships portal www.scholarships.gov.mt . Kindly note that this portal requires an e-ID certification. Scholarships in the Arabic Language 2013 (For Maltese citizens only)
The Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education is offering scholarships to Maltese students who wish to follow an intensive course in the Arabic language. The course is being organized by the Bourguiba Institute for the period 3rd July 2013 to 3rd August 2013. Preliminary registration must be made on the following website: (http://www.iblv.rnu.tn/). Further information is also available through the same website.
Applicants have to apply through the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Scholarship portal (www.scholarships.gov.mt). Kindly note that this portal requires an e-ID certification. E-ID registration, details of which may be obtained from (www.mygov.mt). Alternatively application forms are available from the Ministry’s own website (www.mfa.gov.mt). Master it! Scholarship Scheme – First Call
The Director, Lifelong Learning, informs the public that the First Call for the Master it! Scholarship Scheme – ESF 1.225 has been launched. This scheme is part financed by the European Social Fund.
For this call, applications are received from applicants who wish to follow a Masters (full-time, part-time and distance learning) at EQF Level 7. The duration of the course must not be longer than twenty four (24) calendar months and the final results are to be published by not later than end of October 2015. Eligible programme of studies must start between May, 2013 and December, 2013. For other conditions, applicants are invited to consult the Regulations, available on the website: (www.myscholarship.gov.mt).
The closing date for submission of applications is Friday, 14th June, 2013, at noon (local time). Applications are to be submitted at the Customer Care, Education Information Centre, Education Building, Triq l-Assedju l-Kbir, Floriana VLT 2000.

Scholarships in Japan 2014/2016
The Government of Japan is offering one two-year scholarship to a Maltese graduate student who wishes to study at a Japanese University as a research student under the Japanese Government Scholarship Programme for the academic years 2014-2016 (April 2014 - March 2016), in various subjects within the field of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Subjects must be one of those available at Japanese Universities. One copy of the explanatory note, the application form, the application attachment, the field of study and study programme, the recommendation form and the certificate of health are needed. Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language, interested in Japan and enthusiastic about deepening his/her understanding of Japan after arriving and capable of engaging in study and research while adapting himself/herself to life in Japan. Applicants are also required to contact a professor of the Japanese university where they wish to study and obtain a letter of acceptance.

Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Chinese Programme Offered by the Education Forum of Asia
Undergraduate Studies, General Scholar Courses or Chinese Language Courses 2013/2014

The Embassy of the Republic of Malta in Beijing wishes to announce that applications for the 2013-2014 Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Chinese Program are now being received by the Education Forum of Asia.
The Education Forum of Asia was created with the vision of promoting a more relevant, more dynamic, and higher quality of education in Asia. Through the identification and development of lifelong learning and other educational opportunities the forum seeks to assist populations adjust to the rapidly changing work environment. The Education Forum has successfully collected many scholarship quotas from a number of universities around China. Non-Chinese nationals, including from Maltese nationals, may apply to follow courses available including undergraduate courses, general scholar courses, and Chinese language courses.
The Embassy of Malta in Beijing will continue to liaise with the Education Forum for Asia to increase the opportunities for Maltese people to study in China in the years ahead.
